Returning to Boston by air, I'm always amazed at just how happy I am to see the harbor islands, Nahant, Winthrop beach, and the houses that line the water next to the Logan runways. Up close, on the way home, it's a bit grittier, but in late afternoon light, just about anything can look fantastic.
