Adventures in Quincy

Beautiful May Saturday, nothing to do but head out and check out the Quincy shore. Squantum Point is s funny little spot. Empty other than a handful of joggers and clam diggers - quiet enough to hear the razor clams wriggle down with the tide - despite the mess of new condos just feet away.

Verna's

Zach has already come to associate getting his haircut with lolipops - mind you, after a single occurrence and without a reminder over several months. So what's the harm of also associating Verna's donuts (after dumplings from Quingdao)? The lady at Verna's suggested that Zach would like a chocolate stick donut that weighed about 2 pounds, then there was no convincing him to downgrade to the plain old glazed option.

 

Don't tell him, but I ate the other half while he napped later in the afternoon. For the sake of my son's well being, of course.

Breakfast. Peas, frozen. Blueberries, frozen. Hey, whatever it takes these days to get him to eat something vegetable or fruit-like, right?

Each color chalk was tested individually during which time Zach refused to turn and look at me. "I'm busy, Mommy." Then he was done, but fascinated with the residue on his hands. Check out the belly.
