Second Date?

Zach steals a playground smooch with Lilia. As usual, she is coy.

(Their first date was back in December.)

Ryan 6/09

I'm having a harder time taking pictures of Zach these days, as he becomes more interested in the camera and me with the camera. Ryan is still (more agreeably) oblivious.

Unhappiness is...

...trying to have a photo taken in my stylin' argyle sweater vest when I really would rather be eating crackers in peace.

First barber visit

This wasn't exactly Zach's first haircut - we'd trimmed it at home a couple times already, but it was his first trip to a barber, Fast Phil's in North Cambridge. What a fun place! Phil's neighbor's dog was in for the day, hanging in the second chair waiting for the next hair cut to show up. And yes, the $10 professional cut was completely worth it - an even trim, light entertainment from Phil and his haircutting partner, and no scissor mishaps for Mom or Dad.

Plum Island in the rain

I could probably visit this place every day of my life, if it were just a bit more convenient - even to see it in the damp gray drizzle - and I can't attempt to count my trips here to date. Now I get to watch Zach take it in more or less for the first time, which is it's own sort of new thrill.

What does he think? A bit scared of the dark, loud ocean till he noticed that the surf was full of bubbles, which his Opa helps to point out.

The wave that snuck up from behind to attack his dad was also a highlight of our visit (no photo, but Josh spent the rest of the evening with damp cuffs).

Babies in the woods

First camping trip for Zach, Lilia and Ryan. Babies (ok, so they're toddlers) like being outside all day, turns out. Ryan, especially so, starting as early as 5 am and Lilia with no desire to sleep at all. Zach, miraculously, slept in till 7. Maybe it was all the layers?

And, if chasing them gets to be too strenuous, no worries, just hang them here, in this handy Bjorn/log swing:

Wet toes

Walking through this water-flow thing downtown where I-93 used to loom overhead makes me feel slightly grateful for the $16 billion that was spent on the Big Dig.

Zach and Ryan particularly enjoyed this stop on a tour downtown with Jake and Ashley (seen in the background with Ryan, looking pregnant! ok, maybe not so easy to tell in this photo, but take my word for it). Zach ended up completely soaked and without his pants after not too much time, but they dried quickly.

Watching Geese

So many pictures...so little time. I think this was 2 weeks ago? At Endicott Park in Danvers, after a lovely cheese picnic. Ryan and Zach investigate the livestock:
