Jace...and the hazards that lurk in our future

We caught up with Jace and his parents this past weekend, another member of the Boston Baby Club. After not seeing him in months, it seems he suddenly is no longer a baby, but has moved into toddlerhood. And, in the process the world becomes a series of sticky messes just waiting to happen.

I gotta say, I'm really enjoying my baby's complete lack of mobility and limited dexterity!

Hampton Beach

Zach tries out this beach chair lounging thing in his stylin' swimsuit - it's part baby, part Italian old man - at Hampton beach with his compadres this weekend.

...and so in the process trades his neck in for a few chins. Meanwhile his buddy Ryan scans the bikinis. (Or all those bright-colored umbrellas. Who really knows?)


Guess there's room for 2 babies in this chair (even if it means an elbow in the ear, hand in the - Zach, where's your hand?) - hi Lilia!

Sydney (and ponderings on aging)

When did Sydney start looking so old? Wasn't my oldest niece just a baby a few months ago? And today Jeni turned 5 (happy birthday, Jeni!). Is this a sign that I'm getting to be old - just a few steps away from middle age? Then again, college students are starting to look really young. Can someone explain?

Or, to quote her older sister, Sydney, on their first meeting, "Be careful - it's a REAL baby!"

Little fingers

So many cliche things I could say about this... But, it really is hard to imagine these tiny body parts growing into man-sized hands. For now, I'll enjoy the funny dimples where knuckles should be. And hope he soon gets over his new-found use of those fingers, pinching the skin on my neck with all of his baby might (it's rather painful).
