Riekje, S.O. Robert, and adorable 14-month-old son, Tatje, grabbing some yogurt. They stopped by our place for a couple of nights, while on vacation in the US from Berlin. Riekje is my 2nd cousin 1x removed, we think (our fathers our first cousins), exactly my age. However, we'd only met once before due to the oceans separating us, both literal (Atlantic) and figurative (strict restrictions of the East German government, up till we were teenagers, anyhow), so it was fun to have this chance to reconnect.
